History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

King and Shearwood Funeral home opened in 1997 to serve the families in Haskell County, and the surrounding areas. Growing up near Stigler instilled in me a genuine love for this community and created a deep sense of respect for all of the hard working people who live here.Teresa and I know how richly the Lord has blessed our family by providing us the opportunity to live, work and raise our son in a place where people are proud to have the Ten Commandments on their courthouse lawn. Our business partners and close personal friends, Dr. Martin Shearwood and his wife Traci share those same feeling, for they too grew up in this area and cherish their friends and neighbors. They have a good, kind, moral christian family with 3 great boys. Marty's parents both taught in Stigler Schools, until they retired. The King and Shearwood employees are also long life residents of this area. We know how strong the love is that binds families together, and we understand the sadness that accompanies losing a loved one. We also realize how stressful it can be to have so many important decisions that must be made. We are committed to easing that stress by providing a safe, no pressure environment where we listen with sensitivity to each of your request, completely answering each question you may have, and above all we respect your choices. Then we take care of all your details according to your wishes. We consider it a privilege to serve your family in honoring your loved ones. We hope you find our website helpful. Feel free to call our office for help with questions you may have.Sincerely, Jeff King
