Margaret LaFave

Margaret La Fave age 99, longtime Stigler resident, passed away June 1, 2023 at Faith Presbyterian Hospice Hospital Dallas, Texas. She was born June 7, 1923 in Scranton, Arkansas to Brooks Weir & Ruby (Ramsey) Weir. Margaret grew up in Kinta Oklahoma and graduated from Kinta High School with the class of 1944. She married Eulis La Fave on August 31, 1947. Moving to Richardson, Texas October 2009 to be close to her family, Margaret made many new friends at Twin Rivers Independent Living. Her new friends were very precious to her. She was active in the church and many social activities. Margaret moved to The Monarch at Richardson Assisted Living September 2021 but remained in contact with her many friends and while making new friends. Margaret was described by her friends as a blessing, a magnificent friend, loving, smart, kind, beautiful woman who was proof you could make a wonderful impact on others at any age. Margaret worked at the City Hall, the ASCS Office, and the Newspaper Office in Stigler. She was also employed at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa. Margaret was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Stigler, Oklahoma and a member of the Stigler Rebecca Lodge for over 50 years. She was most known for her religious beliefs, cooking skills and friendships. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Margaret took great pride in her family and enjoyed her grandson and great grandchildren greatly. The recent birth of her great-great grandson brought such a joy to her. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Maxwell and her significant other Jon Frederick of Richardson, Texas; a grandson Barry Maxwell and his wife Amy of Murphy, Texas; three great grandchildren Preston Eulis Maxwell and his wife Savanah of Garland Texas, Hudson Frederick Maxwell, and Addyson Mae Maxwell both of Murphy Texas; one great-great grandson Easton Sage Maxwell of Garland Texas; two nephews Hershel Wayne Prentice of Stigler Oklahoma and Stanley Weir of Wichita, Kansas. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Brooks & Ruby Weir, her husband, Eulis LaFave, her sister Ramona Prentice, a brother Guy Loyd Weir, and a niece Marianne Prentice.
