Janice Elaine Peek

Janice Elaine “Pooh” Peek, 67, died July 28th, 2016 at her home in Stigler, OK. She was born on January 1st, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to Norman and Dorothy Jackman. She married Robert Peek on May 27th, 1976 in Kansas City, MO. They made their home in the Kansas City, MO area until retirement. They then made the decision to move to Oklahoma in order to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Janice received her education in Kansas City, MO. She then worked until retirement at Stuart Hall Stationary as a machinist. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, shopping on QVC, baking cookies with her granddaughter and spending time with her family. She was known for “telling it like it was.” Any person that had an interaction with her couldn’t help but like her. She would most certainly leave you with a memory to tell for years. She will definitely be missed. She is survived by her two sons Fred Peek and wife Patty, of Kinta, OK and Mike Peek of McAlester, OK; two brothers Sail Jackman and wife Bobbie of Gravois Mills, MO and Roger Jackman and wife Jeanne of Olatha, KS; sister-in-law Beverly Jackman of Independence, MO; sister-in law and dearest friend Linda Jackman of Independence, MO; her grandchildren Shannon Peek of Tulsa, OK, Allen Peek and fiancé Diane of Quinton, OK, Dustin Peek and wife Misty of McCurtain, OK, Dewayne Peek and girlfriend Trisha Barnes of Bates, AR, Wanda Spears and husband Dennis of Elk City, OK, Melinda Sailor and husband Randy of Graham, TX, Robert Peek and wife Carla of McAlester, OK, Jeremy Peek of McAlester, OK, Jamie Peek of McAlester, OK; and several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her fur-baby, Chiquita; her husband, Robert Lee Peek; her brother Don Jackman; her mother and father, Norman and Dorothy Jackman; and one nephew, Marshall Ray Jackman. Memorial Services will be held at the Leo Reasnor Community Center in Kinta, OK at 1:00 PM on August 13, 2016. Lunch will be served immediately following. The same evening, burial will be conducted at Old Panther Cemetery in McCurtain, OK. Everyone is welcome to join Janice’s family in celebrating her life.
