Glen Dale Monday

Glen Dale Monday, 68, of Stigler, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at his home with family gathered around him as he ascended to his heavenly home.. He was born June 20, 1953 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Evert Lee & Martha Ellen (Marler) Monday. Glen grew up and was educated in Wann, Oklahoma. His home church was Wann Baptist Church until he married. Later he and his family moved to Stigler in the 80’s the kids went to school here. He & Alene are members of River of Life Church. They love Pastor Jack & Lesa & their church family. Glen was a truck driver for many years. He got the name “Honker” because he honked, smiled, waved at everyone & things, even the cows in the fields. He was an Oilfield worker for 25 years. Glen was a hard worker all his life. He always made sure everyone else was taken care of before worrying about himself. He would drop anything, anywhere, anytime someone needed him. He’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, He’d give you his last dollar, loan you his truck and never say anything about how long you kept it. He loved his family, loved those grandkids, great & great great grandkids, loved every dog they had and had them spoiled rotten until the day they died. When he was driving a truck, he’d take his dog with him. They were a lot of company to him on those long trips. Glen had a heart of gold for kids & animals. Every time we got in his truck or car to go someplace he was playing the old Gospel Hymns. Sometimes he’d take the tape player out on the porch and turned it up loud on Sunday mornings & everyone could hear that good ole’ gospel music. (Whether they wanted to or not, but no one ever complained.) He loved God, family, friends, & fishing. He was a very generous man, helpful, friendly, never met a stranger. Glen is survived by his mother, Martha Monday of Wann, OK.; the love of his life, his wife of 46 years, Alene Monday of the home; his children & their spouses; Staci & Jimmy Seymour of Stigler, Jami Fowler of Broken Arrow, Glen E. & Amie Monday of Stigler; grandkids & their spouses, Casey & Samitra, Mystic, Moe , Jennifer, Holly & William, Craig & Alison, Emilee, Jamie, Caitlyn, Cade, Kady, Sami K, Nichole, Jaden ; 20 great grandkids, Latch, Kaselyn, Chanson, Rhett, Ryker, Addie, Dawson, Auugust & Mallory, Erin, Aiden, Ryzor, Savanna, Justah, Miguel, Mya, Julisa, Ricky, Leo, Kody; 3 great great grandkids, Ryder, Abigail, & one-on-the-way; 2 brothers & a sister-in-law, Jimmy Lee, Tony & Becky; 3 sisters-in-law & 2 brothers-in-law, Laveda & Jerry, Linda & Tommy, & Marsha; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles & aunts that are loved. Special Loved One’s, Eric, Heather, Ethan, Mallory, Brooklyn, Rigs & Hayden. Glen is preceded in death by his Dad, Evert Monday; his daughter, Amy Wescot; his brother, Gene Monday; a grandson, Russell Ginn. Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 27, 2021 at River of Life Church with Pastor Jack Sloan officiating. Pallbearers include Linton Gorman, Jeff Bean, Bobby Anderson, Brady Wilson, Blake Bailey, Craig Fowler. Honorary Pallbearer is Richard Thornton. Burial will follow in Stigler Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
