Gayle Jayne Roberson

Gayle Jayne Rose Roberson was born in Tamaha, Oklahoma on October 7, 1936 to Reverend Carlisle and Mary (Allen) Rose. She passed away on July 3, 2022 in Sallisaw, OK at the age of 85. Gayle is survived by Her husband of 64 years, Tommy Joe Roberson, of Keota, Oklahoma; Three Daughters ,Kim Roberson of Atlanta, Georgia, Karen Roberson Henderson of Keota, Oklahoma Jody Roberson Carson, and husband Lynn, of Stilwell, Oklahoma; Four Granddaughters: Rachel Carson Felice, and husband Robert, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Madison Blocker Limbacher, and husband Drew, of Houston, Texas, Kristen Carson Salomon, and husband Kyle, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mackenzie Blocker of Atlanta, Georgia; Six Great Grandchildren: Nora and Caleb Felice of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Eleanor, Elizabeth an Emily Limbacher of Houston, Texas; Carson Salomon of Tulsa, Ok.; special recognition of caregivers, Kayte Bloxham and Sandra Seabolt. Gayle is preceded in death by one son-in-law, John Henderson; two sisters, Irene Eddings and Helen Welton; five brothers, Boyd Rose, James Rose, Jack Rose, Pat Rose and Frank Rose; and her parents Reverend Carlisle and Mary Margaret Rose. Gayle was beloved by her family and friends. She had a true servant’s heart. She faithfully attended church and followed Jesus her whole life, and led many in faith, including her family. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Keota, Oklahoma, where she served as church treasurer and pianist for many years. She was also very involved in children’s ministry, bible studies, and providing for others. She was often first to volunteer to bring food to any event, and her food was legendary. She was known as an excellent cook, baker, and candy maker. Gayle was an exemplary farmer’s wife, and she happily filled the roles of bookkeeper, farm hand, and cattle caretaker. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing clothes for her children when they were younger, and sewing quilts and other keepsakes as she got older. Gardening was something she looked forward to each year, and she was often found putting away vegetables and fruit, which she then gladly shared with family and friends. One of her greatest joys in life was her family, she loved hearing from daughters and granddaughters and was so proud of each of them. Great grandchildren were an absolute delight, and she loved watching them and getting to know them. Gayle left a legacy of love and life through her family and her service, she will be missed so much, but we rejoice in her heavenly home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Keota First Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Newberry officiating. Eulogist: her granddaughter, Rachel Felice. Pallbearers include Cory West, Leonard Greer, Ty Patterson, Steve Mills, Brandon Geer, Aaron Hamby,. Honorary Pallbearers include Glen Patterson, Larry Harris, Mike Sutter, Jr. Bruner, Tom Barton, Brian Knowles, Bubba (Kenny) Bailes. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Memory of Gayle Roberson to the First Baptist Church in Keota, Ok. P.O.Box 128, Keota, OK 74941.
