Bradley Kurt McHuin

Mr. Bradley Kurt McHuin, 58, of Porum passed from this world on January 6, 2014 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Brad was born August 5, 1955 to RaeElla (Gardner) McHuin in Oklahoma City and where he was raised. He enlisted in the Army at the age of 17. When he returned home he made a living as a plumber. Brad and Mary Jo met in August of 1986. They made their home in Tulsa and returned to Oklahoma City a few years later. Brad then went to Truck Driving School and began a new career. He worked for Bill and Kevin McBride at Mac Pac Trucking in Checotah for 20 years . Brad and Mary Jo moved back to Porum to settle down and raise their three children. In 2005, Brad became disabled and unable to work. He enjoyed fishing, watching OU football games and OKC Thunder basketball games, taking walks with his dog Ace, as well as spending time with his family and friends. Brad was a Christian who strongly believed in God, Jesus and the Bible. He encouraged his children to read the Bible and learn about the Lord. Brad and Mary Jo spent the last twenty-nine years of their lives together and he was deeply loved by his family and others. He’ll be missed but not forgotten. Brad is survived by his wife Mary Jo of the home; one son, Andrew McHuin of the home; two daughters, Casey McHuin and fiance’ Kelby Sockey of the home , Olivia McHuin of the home; one sister, Carol McHuin of Oklahoma City,Ok.; stepmother-in-law, Linda Morris of Garland, Texas; he also left numerous family and friends behind that will miss him deeply. He is preceded in death by his mother, RaeElla McHuin; two brothers, Steven Todd McHuin and Michael McHuin, his grandparents; one aunt; his mother-in-law, Mary Scheulen; his father-in-law, Joe Morris. Funeral Services will be at Free Will Baptist Church at Briartown, Monday, 2:00 P.M., January 13, 2014 with Reverend Mike Sloat officiating. Pallbearers include Rick Seabolt, Victor Voss, Daniel Fischer, Tristan Fioretti, Bo Turner, Tyler Holman. Honorary Pallbearers include Pete Scheulen, Kelby Sockey, Chad Shoemake, Shannon Fuller, Albert Wright, Darrel Tucker, Phillip Scheulen. Burial will follow immediately at Fields Cemetery in Porum under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
