Wilmoth White

July 18, 1921 - May 26, 2016

Wilmoth White, 94 of Gonzales, Texas passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Gonzales, Texas. She was born July 18, 1921 in Stigler to Hugh and Lola (Leird) Turner. She grew up in many Texas towns including Houston and Clute where she made her home. She worked for Dow Chemicals for many years. During World War II she worked as a secretary for the McAlester Army Amunition Plant. She and her husband Duvel White relocated back to Texas before returning to McAlester in the 1980's. She was a member of the Eastern Star, McAlester Country Club, and former member of McAlester First Baptist Church. Wilmoth moved back to Texas after her husband's death to live her grandson and grandchildren. She will always be remembered as loving to paint, sew, work in the garden, she loved to travel which included all 50 states and extended into other nations; but most of all she was a loving wife and mother and she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. She was a special lady. Wilmoth is survived by five grandsons, Donald Gene “Sam” White Jr., Ronald Floyd White Jr., Phillip Andrew White, Duvel Dewayne White, Dewayne Allen White; one granddaughter, Samantha LaBrie; six great grandchildren, Samuel, Bethany, Jessica, Preston, Dayln, Kaylyn; two special nieces, Jackie Turner, Nancy Turner Arnold; six great nieces and nephews, Alecia, Brian, Colette, Jamie, Lola, Andrew; as well as numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Lola Turner; her husband, Duvel White; two sons, Donald G. White and Ronald F. White; two brothers, Jack Howel Turner, George Willis Turner; a sister, Verna May Turner. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 30, 2016 at Whitefield Baptist Church with Reverend Donald Gene White Jr. officiating and Reverend Tommie Parker delivering the Eulogy. Pallbearers include Kenny Arnold, Duvel White, Paul David White, Samuel White, Dewayne White, Ronald White, Andy White. Burial will immediately follow at Whitefield Cemetery under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
