Timothy Clay Chapman Jr.

Timothy Clay Chapman Jr., known by many as “Speed”, 61 died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at his home in Stigler. A native of Oden, Arkansas he was born January 16, 1951 to Timothy C. Chapman Sr. and Luella (Thompson) Chapman. He grew up at Webbers Falls and Porum where he graduated with the class of 1969. He earned a degree in Mechanics from Okmulgee Tech. He was a mechanic for ExxonMobil for 20 years, where he worked so hard to provide for his family. He never missed a day of work until 2005 when his health took a sharp decline and he was forced to take early retirement. He enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley with the love of his life, Elaine. He also enjoyed Nascar, OU Football and he loved his dog, Elliott. He loved to coach little league baseball and he tried to attend every ballgame he could for the kids, grandkids and his nieces and nephews. He was a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend. You always knew when he was around because of his enormous laugh. He could light up any room with his smile and he will be remembered as always having a smile on his face. He smiled the most when he got to see his grandchildren. He was a special man and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Rachel Elaine Chapman of the home; three daughters, Crystal Bliss and husband James of Warner, Lindsey Hylton and husband Joshua of Mustang, Natalie Chapman of Stigler; one son, Timothy Clay Chapman (Trey) III and wife Ashley of Stigler; two step sons, Andrew Monks and wife Candice of Stigler, Matthew Monks and wife Shelby of McAlester; 15 grandchildren, Trenton, Ty, Braelyn, Chord, Jace, Jett, Kambryn, Kirsten, Clay, Skyler, Lillian, Gunner, Henry, Matte, and Scout; four sisters, Sandra Chapman, Dee Perry, Sharilyn Vanhouse, Marla Chapman; one half-sister, Kelly Chancellor; one brother, Tony Chapman; his step-father, Lacy Backward. He is preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Chapman Sr. and Luella (Chapman) Backward; one half-brother, Les Backward. Family visitation will be thursday evening 6-8 12/20/2012 R.E.Shearwood Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Greater Refuge Pentecostal Church at Quinton with Reverend George Mantooth officiating. The Eulogist will be Reverend Terry Strain. Pallbearers will be Roy Morgan, Charles Smith, Bill Ritter, Matthew Monks, Andrew Monks, and Terry Strain. Honorary pallbearers include James Bliss, L.D. Clay and Joshua Hylton.. Burial will follow at Snake Girty Cemetery at Webbers Falls. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
