Sylvia Lorene "Dean" Casey

Sylvia Lorene “Dean” Casey, 92, of Keota, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Spiro. She was born June 21, 1929 in Cromwell, Oklahoma to Ottis Victory & Bessie Mae (Fidler) Self. Sylvia loved going to church, singing in church. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved traveling across the country and camping with her husband George. Sylvia is survived by 2 sisters, Mona Byrl “Jackie” Bates of Keota, Patricia Ophelia “Sissy” Allen of Spiro; a brother, William Dewayne “Wayne” Self of Keota; 2 daughters, Joyce Riley & Mona Penn of Oklahoma City; 2 sons, Arthur Loyd Ritter of Newalla, OK. & Randall Dean Ritter of Oklahoma City; 16 grandchildren;34 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis & Bessie Self; the father of her children, Arthur “Wilson” Ritter, her husband of 25 years; George Casey; a daughter, Sue Ellis; 7 brothers, Aubrey “Vernon” Self, Billy Earl “Bill” Self, Odis Nathaniel “Nate” Self, Ottis Victory “O.V.” Self, Tony Ottis Self, Vester Don “Donnie” Self, Estel Doyle “Lucky” Self; a sister, Sharon Kay Morton. Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at McCurtain First Baptist Church with Reverend John Bates officiating. Eulogist: Reverend Fred Wegert. Pallbearers include Justin Lowe, Michael Quick, Wade Ferguson, Kenny Short, Terry Burdette, Mike Eaton. Burial will follow in Keota Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
