Ruby Charlene Burgess Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruby Charlene Burgess, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Stigler. A native of Sans Bois, she was born February 15, 1934 to Charlie "Doc" and Ruby (Warren) Young. She grew up at Sans Bois and received her education and graduated from Kinta Schools in 1951. She was married to Bill Burgess on August 24, 1951 and made their home together. She began a career with Haskell County District #2 as secretary that spanned some 30 plus years until her retirement. Charlene enjoyed arts & crafts, crochet, and especially loved Gospel music and singing in Church. She was longtime member of Fish Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She adored her family. Charlene is survived by two sons, Charles Burgess and wife Aletha of Greenwood, AR, David Burgess and wife Brenda of Kinta; 6 grandchildren, Michelle Burgess, Gina & husband Mark Stratta, Hillary & husband Dustin Willbanks, Debra Archer, Michael Burgess, Connor Burgess; 9 great grandchildren, Zackery, Kyle, Jacob, Lane, Kace, Abbigail, Cash, Cane, Grant; 3 great great grandchildren, Ella, Myles, and Macie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Ruby Young; her husband, Bill Burgess; her son, Joey Burgess; her sister, Yvonne Riddle; her brother, Donald Young. Graveside services will be 5:00 P.M. Friday, May 6, 2022 at Sans Bois Cemetery with Reverend Jack Sloan officiating. Pallbearers will be Lane Willbanks, Kyle Lassiter, Kace Lassiter, Zackery Brasuell, Jacob Riddle and Jerrod Riddle. Honorary pallbearers include Jacob Brasuell, Roy Wayne Riddle, Donnie Young, Bill Markham. Burial will follow under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
