Mr. Ollie S. Hurlocker Jr., 68, of Canadian died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at a Shawnee hospital. He was born on July 23, 1944 in Monroe to Ollie Hurlocker Sr. and Freda (Goodin) Hurlocker. He grew up in Arizona where he received his education before joining the United States Army for two terms during the Vietnam War. After returning from the war he began truck driving and made his home in Jonesboro, Arkansas until his retirement. He then moved to Porum in the early 2000’s until he made his home in Canadian in 2011. He will always be remembered as loving to fish, keeping his family constantly supplied with catfish, being a great mechanic, and loving country music. He is survived by three sisters, Betty Hutchins of West Fork, Arkansas, Barbara Darcy of Porum, Linda East of Midwest City; two brothers, Jerry Hurlocker of DeQueen, Arkansas, Don Hurlocker of Porum; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Freda Hurlocker, four sisters, Mary Aldridge, Sylvia Walkop, Freda Tribe, Paulette Self. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., April 30, 2013, at Mountain Home Cemetery with Reverend Wendell Cox officiating. Pallbearers include Clay Holt, Glyn Morgan, David Duty, Larry Murry, Bo Murphy, and J.J. Hurlocker Jr. Burial will immediately follow under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
