Mary Burgess

April 18, 1961 - February 6, 2022

Mary Burgess, 60, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at her home in Porum. She was born in Oklahoma City on April 18, 1961 to J.C. and Barbara Murray. She married the love of her life Marcus Burgess on April 27, 1979 and had two beautiful children. Mary loved her family more than life itself. Her passion was always helping others. She never met a stranger or a child she didn’t love. She was a true inspiration to us all. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Marcus Burgess of the home; a daughter, Barbara Horton of Porum; a son, Marcus Burgess and wife Jennifer of Perkins; 6 grandchildren, Ethan, Jaycie, Devon, Kaylee, Karsen and Kinley; her siblings, Jack Murray and wife Cathy of Bentonville, AR, Diana Neal and husband, Rick of Stigler, Tina Chandler and husband Earl of Pocasset, John Murray and wife Joy of Forgan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews among with the many heart children she gathered along the way. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Barbara Murray; her father and mother in law, Hershel and Bobbie Burgess; her brother, Chuck Murray. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Faith Community Church with Reverend Stanley Smith officiating. The Eulogist will be Reverend Jack Sloan. Pallbearers will be Ethan Burgess, Devon Burgess, Karsen Houston, Jerry Bryant, Ryan Bryant, Dylan Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus Burgess, Melanio Pereira, Nate Bryant, Kansas Gulley, Apollo Caraway, Ares Caraway. Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stilger.
