John James Dickey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John James Dickey, 76, of Stigler, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at his granddaughter, Maranda & Brad's home in Kinta. He was born July 9, 1943 in McAllen, Texas to Woodrow & Evelyn (Rosson) Dickey. He served his country in the United States Navy. He grew up in South Texas and moved to Chickasha and met a young lady that stole his heart , Miss Ruth Kelley. They were married on October 24, 1964 and they made their home in Pearland, Texas until 1980 when they moved to Stigler. John was a heavy equipment operator during his working years. He worked at the Port of Houston as a Crane Operator. He loved hunting, fishing, playing his guitar with some of his music buddies when they’d get together picking and a grinning, and he loved raising a big garden. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. John is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Timmy & Judy Dickey of Hope, Arkansas; his 2 daughters & a son-in-law, Kim & Ronnie Baker of Stigler, Amanda Reece of Eufaula; 6 grandchildren & spouses, B.J. Honeycutt, Caden Suttles, Maranda & Brad Tucker, Matt & Brittnie Bollinger, Mason & Chelsea Reece, Cole Reece; 13 great grandchildren, Clayne, Brylar, Bryggs, Hailee, Jade, Jacklyn, Colton, Remington, Emmerson, Acelynn, Monroe, Layton & Avery; a sister Jeannie of Louisanna. John is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow & Evelyn Dickey; the love of his life for 53 years until her death, Ruth Dickey; a brother Harold Dickey; 2 sisters, Pearl Rushing & Barbara Rosson. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 26, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Tommie Parker officiating; Eulogist, Reverend Willard Francis. Pall bearers include B.J. Honeycutt, Caden Suttles, Matt Bollinger, Mason Reece, Cole Reece, Brad Tucker. Honorary Pallbearers include Chad Martin, Tim Phillips, Brad Phillips, Ronnie Baker, Charles Reece, Bobby Martin, Michael Welch, Charles Don Robertson. Burial will follow in Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
