Wanda Kathryn Peters

Wanda Kathryn Peters of Enterprise, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2024 at the age of 86, surrounded by her family. Wanda was born February 8, 1938 in Sandridge, Oklahoma to Eugene Debs and Opal Julia Parker. She was a graduate of Stigler, Oklahoma High School with the class of 1956.At the young age of 17, on October 4, 1955, Wanda married the love of her life, Ernest Landon Peters, who was19 at the time. Shortly after they married, Ernest was deployed overseas to Korea for 16 months. During this time, Wanda lived with her parents. After Ernest’s return ,they began their married life in Stigler, Oklahoma and less than a year later, their first child, Donna, was born at home. They moved to Oklahoma City to work and raise their young family, but they always yearned to move back home to the country. In 1974, they bought some land and a house in Enterprise, Oklahoma and that became their home from then on. Wanda and Ernest became entrepreneurs in1985, when they purchased the local auto parts store ,Quinton Auto Parts. They owned and operated the parts store, along side their son, Mark, until their retirement in 2008. Wanda was a very talented artist in so many ways. She was excellent at any artistic task she endeavored, including oil painting, drawing, quilting, crocheting, sewing and photography. Her creative talents have been passed down to her children and grandchildren through the years in various ways. She loved the Lord and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Her love for her children ,grandchildren and great grandchildren was ever present as she was always eager to know about their lives and made sure they all felt her love for them. Wanda is survived by her husband, Ernest Peters of Enterprise; two daughters, Donna (Lindell) Wilson of McAlester, Oklahoma and Tammie (Ed) Chism of Northport, Alabama; one son, Mark (Gayla) Peters of Quinton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Amber (Bryant) Rylee, Blake (Cambria) Wilson, Todd (Michelle) Chism, Tyler (Destanie) Wilson, Kase Peters, Macey (Jared) Kirkland and Hanna Peters; great grandchildren, Christian Rylee, Lilyanna Chism, Leona Chism, Loretta Chism, Grayson Wilson, Ellison Wilson, Aiden Wilson, Chip Kirkland, Kye Kirkland, Bailey Bigham and Hunter Bigham; one brother, Hershel (Joyce) Parker; three sisters, Phyllis Brown, Glenda Whitehead (Kenneth), Sally Thrasher and extended family and friends .She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Opal Parker, son, Ernest Todd Peters; and brothers, Billy Gene Parker and Euel Parker.
