Shirley Jean Fisher

Shirley Jean McGuire Fisher, 74, of Stigler, Oklahoma was sent home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Shirley was born on November 7th, 1950 at home in Garland, Oklahoma to the late Ruth Storment McGuire and Phillip Crump McGuire. Shirley spent her entire life in Stigler, maintaining the farm and land she was raised on, as well as, being a home care assistant for many of those years. Shirley’s greatest desire was to see all of her loved ones accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and let him become Lord over their lives by reading and learning his love letter, the Bible, on how we should live to become more like Him with the guidance from the Holy Spirit, who Jesus sent, to dwell inside us, to comfort us, and guide us in every aspect of our lives. Shirley was a faithful woman of God and a wonderful steward of His word. She attended Stigler Assembly of God for years and touched many lives along the way. Shirley was kind and giving. She put others needs first, but was strong-willed and independent when it came to her own. Shirley loved her family with an unwavering love. She was well-known for her delicious cooking, as well as, her large feasts at Thanksgiving and Christmas, that could likely feed a small army. Shirley is survived by her son Wesley Shawn Mitchell of Stigler, Ok; one sister, Phillis Kay Honeycutt; One sister-in-law, Susie McGuire; Five grandchildren, Matthew Mitchell and wife Stephanie, Kristin Wheaton and husband Jake, Sadie Franks and husband Hunter, Billy Mitchell, and Cody Mitchell; Four great grandchildren, Raelee Tibbs, Jasper Franks, Cash Franks, and Preston Wheaton; Several nieces and nephews including: Jenine Love, Janice Drake, Jeannie McGuire, Shelly Cleveland, Sandy Bliss, Angela Jones, and Melissa Kay Honeycutt, Terry Palmer, Phillip B McGuire, Jordan Turley, and Steven Honeycutt. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Phillip McGuire; her mother, Ruth McGuire; Two sisters, Juanita Ruth McGuire and Wanda Lee Palmer; Four brothers, Phillip Wayne McGuire, George Wendell McGuire, John Garner McGuire, and Kenneth Paul McGuire; and daughter-in-law, Tina Mitchell. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 at the King and Shearwood Funeral Home in Stigler, Oklahoma. Burial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17th, 2025 at Garland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hunter Franks, Matthew Mitchell, Jacob Wheaton, Gerald Cleveland, Howard Glenn Storment, and Curtis McGuire. Shirley was a bright light in the world and she will be greatly missed.
