Ethel Lee Prater

Ethel Lee Prater, 98, long time Stigler resident passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Stigler. She was born on November 9, 1927 at Briartown to William Lee Haney and Willie (Stephens) Haney. She grew up at Briartown where she received her education. She was married to Emmitt Oldham in 1945 and made their home together until his death in 1959. She later married Cecil Prater and made their home together at Stigler until his death in 2002. She worked for Borum Grocery, as well as the old Stigler Nursing Home as an aid, she later worked as a greeter at Wal Mart for many years. She was a long time member of the Stigler First Assembly of God Church. Ethel was an avid quilter and loved to crochet. She was very talented and made hundreds of quilts for friends and family. She is survived by one son, Bobby Oldham of Stigler; two daughters, Pat Rogers and husband Jack of Tulsa, Carol Carry and husband Charles of Keota; her stepchildren, Clifton (Bud) Prater and wife Sarah of Oklahoma City, Kathy Young and husband Gary of Davis; 11 grandchildren, Tracy, Tammy, Rhonda, Gail, Andrea, Dana, Audra, Adam, Ashley, Arin, Jeffery; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister in law, Mona Haney of Stillwater, Joyce Warren of Blackwell; special in laws, Barbara Sherman and Earl Oldham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Willie Haney; her sons, Donnie and Tim Oldham; her first husband, Emmitt Oldham; her second husband, Cecil Prater; three brothers, Winfred and David Haney, Cecil Warren; 3 daughters in law, Carol Oldham, Sue Stout, Darlene Oldham; her grandson, Dustin Oldham; sister in law, Neva Haney, and her special sister in law Marie Oldham her lifelong friend who worked together to raise 10 kids. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 17, 2026 at Stigler First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jason Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Oldham, Adam Carry, Tracy Oldham, Louis Oldham, Mike Dean, Rockey Oldham, Stoney Oldham. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Oldham, David Oldham, Jim Storment. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
