Donald Wayne Hallman

Donald Wayne Hallman’s life was one of Honor Donald Wayne Hallman 81, of Kinta, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at a Tulsa hospital. Don was born on February 20, 1932 to Theo Hallman and Violet (Fulkerson) Hallman. He spent his childhood in Drumright Oklahoma and then attended Crooked Oak High School in Oklahoma City where he played basketball and football and was his class Salutatorian. He was a man of intelligence and good looks. He often joked that his grandchildren were all so good looking because they received their looks from him. After graduating High School he started his life long career in the oil field. From sun up to sun down he worked but still made time to shoot a pretty Indian girl his sweet smile. He won her wild love and on February 8, 1952 he married Ermale Borron. Just 6 short months later Don was ordered to report to Korea. He fought heroically for his country. Even after being injured and shell fragment encompassing his body, he brought home a purple heart and his sweet smile to the woman he loved. Together they began building their legacy bringing home a little girl named Deborah then two boys Donnie and Danny. The oil field moved them constantly but 10 acres on Tucker Knob was where they settled while raising the family and at least one mean goat. Together they were the heart of their family that grew to 6 grandkids and 12 great grandkids. Their home in Kinta served as the constant gathering place for memories to be made. Their doors were always open to friends and family. Their home was a place of love for all that entered, laughter around the glass table, holidays celebrated around the Christmas tree and rock fireplace in the den, Easter egg hunts to anxious grandchildren and great grandchildren, candy at Halloween, Thanksgiving at noon but ready by 10:30. Don was a man who led by example and he taught the value of doing things right (the first time). A kind word from a kind man, a listening ear, a hug, and that wonderful smile were always readily available. He loved taking fishing trips but more than anything he loved Jesus Christ and his family. He would often sing hymns at Fish Creek Baptist Church after his son Danny and wife Ermale passed away. Don is survived by his daughter, Debbie Pixler and husband Stuart of Kinta; his son, Donnie Hallman of Kinta; two brothers, Pat Hallman and wife Paula of Drumright, Ricky Hallman and wife Myrl Ann of Drumright; two sisters, Nona Lancaster of Drumright, and Sue Marshall and husband JR of Patterson, LA.; He was called Papa by his grandchildren and they will remember him for his kindness and his love. These include, Jeremy, Amy & JR, Tyson & Brooke, Whitney & Tyson C., Taner & Keely, Hailey, Heather. His great grandchildren will remember him for his Oreo cookies and his love for them. These include, Blayze, Maicie, Braden, Jaxson, Trayce, Jocelyn, Brecken, Dax, Jaci, Dawson, Brooks, and Jenner; numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a family that will always cherish his smile and his love. Our family is a circle of strength and love and with every birth and every union that circle grows. Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger. Donald Wayne Hallman is now in Heaven with his parents, Theo and Violet Hallman; his wife, Ermale Hallman; and their son Danny Hallman. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 19, 2013 at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with Gary Tucker officiating and Amy Flud delivering the Eulogy. Pallbearers include Jeremy Howell, Tyson Hallman, Taner Hallman, J.R. Flud, Jesse Feldick, Tyson Cardell. Honorary Pallbearers include Jensen Doby, Boyd King, Jim Wilson, Pat Hallman, Ricky Hallman, Brett King, Kenneth Wilson, Steve Wilson, Terry Wilson, Paul Barron. Burial will immediately follow at Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
