Claudine Macom

Claudine Macom, 73, long time Stigler resident was called away Monday, December 3, 2012. A native of Caddo, Oklahoma she was born February 15, 1939 to Charles Lafayette Miller and Mattie Lee (Goatcher) Miller. She grew up at Stigler and was a graduate with the Stigler High School Class of 1957. She was married to Charles Floyd Macom on December 25, 1957 and made their home together. Claudine worked as a secretary for the tag agency and the Department of Human Services for several years. She began a career with the United States Corps of Engineers at the Eufaula office for some 20 years until her retirement. Claudine then started Cowboy Bulldogs, this was her calling. She raised and sold some the best English Bulldogs all over the United States. She started with two females and she alone built her kennel to over 30 females. This was her passion! She loved being in the outdoors. She was the hardest working, most organized Lady ever. Claudine was a homemaker for years. She volunteered as a 4H leader. She would help with the horse, calf, and pig shows and Share the Fun. She loved helping the youth get started in all of the activities. She loved her grand kids, helping them learn and grow and watching them in all of their activities and events. She will be greatly missed and will always be in our hearts. She is survived by two sons, Charles Floyd Macom II of Little Rock, AR, and Clayton L. Macom and wife Laura of Stigler; five grandchildren, Jason Macom, Misty Anderson, Dakota Macom, Colt Macom, and Savannah Macom; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Baylor Anderson, Cadence Macom; one sister, Christine Miller of Panama; one brother, Clay Miller and wife Sharon of Muskogee. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Charles Ray, Charlene, Chester, Carol, Carlene, and Carl. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Stigler First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Sherman Dix officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Thompson, Jeremy Thompson, Josh Thompson, Jared Thompson, Rick Thompson and Dale Miller.Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
