BOBBY LEE COUGHRAN

Bobby Lee Coughran 90, of Porum passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Tulsa. He was born March 27, 1935 at Checotah to Frank and Bessie (Wood) Coughran. He grew up at Porum where he graduated from high school in 1953. He served his country with the United States Army as a Airborne Paratrooper, he served a tour of duty in Germany. He was married to Virginia "Jenny" Warren in 1957 and made their home in Tulsa, they together raised three children. They were married for 51 years until Jenny passed away in 2008. Bob began a career with the United States Postal Service and served for many years until his retirement in 1979. He began pursuing his passion of restoring trucks. His favorite was the 1967-1976 generation. He also loved dirt track racing with his kids, he built quarter midgets, micro midgets, midgets, modifieds, super modifieds, and open wheel sprint cars. Bob was an excellent mechanic and carpenter, he always had to have a project of some kind, rather it be a car project or a carpentry project he was never done trying to complete it. He always contemplated what his next project could be. Bob was an active member and long time Deacon of Porum First Baptist Church. He was married to Frances Shearwood on February 19, 2010 and made their home together for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, Frances Coughran of the home; two children, Kathy Duncan of Broken Arrow, Bobby Coughran and wife Sandy of Coweta; five grandchildren, Brandy Boswell, Jennifer Carter, Shane Coughran, Michelle Fisher, Jayme Coughran; great grandchildren, Taylor, Demond, Orlando, Kyra, Hayden, Jada, Tris, Kaylee, Cody, Kinsley, Charlie, Holly; great great grandchild, Adrian; one brother, Lonzo Coughran of Claremore; two step sons, Brent Shearwood of Porum, Marty Shearwood and wife Traci of Stigler; step grandchildren, Chrissie Huffman and husband Joe, Chase Shearwood and wife Gracie, McKinsi Pingleton and husband Easton, Chance Shearwood and wife Tiffany, Colton Shearwood and wife Kat, Cade Shearwood and wife Macey; step great granchildren, Jonah, Caelin, Kyran, Gracen, Selah, Jolen, Josiah, Cooper, Collins, Callum, Maddox, Hartley, Hollin, Rosie Jo, Lexi, Allie Ann. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bessie Coughran; his wife, Virginia Coughran; his son, Michael Coughran; one grandson, Kyle Coughran; a granddaughter in law, Kristi Coughran; three brothers, John, Bill, and Jack Coughran. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Porum First Baptist Church with Pastor Blaine Ross officiating. Pallbearers will be Shane Coughran, Charlie Coughran, Demond Boswell, Cody Coughran, Chance Shearwood, Chase Shearwood, Jonah Huffman. Burial with full Military Honors by VFW Post #4446 will follow at Coleman Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
