Billie K Couch

Billie K. (Moseby) Couch of Stigler, Oklahoma, after ninety-nine (99) years of a life filled with homemade pies and favorite meals for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, has gone to be with the Lord on June 15, 2024. Billie was born in Mulberry, Arkansas on September 29, 1924, to Leo and Sarah Moseby. This oldest daughter with six brothers and sisters moved about the country as her dad found work in the years leading up to and following the “Great Depression” when the family finally settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Billie worked with Bell Telephone Company before marrying Elbert Couch when she then moved to a ranch in Maze County and later Wagoner County where she kept books, fed ranch hands, managed the home and raised their three children. Later in the lives of her children, Billie worked at BOX IGA in Wagoner and finally at Jackson and Roberts Medical Clinic as an insurance coordinator until she retired and moved to Stigler, Oklahoma where she resided for the last thirty years. Known lovingly as Mom, “Gernny,” Granny, Great Granny, Billie and Kaye, she leaves behind a legacy of following and loving the Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a woman of tremendous faith. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Sarah Moseby, her three brothers, Raymond, Troy and Donald; three sisters, Edwina, Eloise, and Helen; and daughter, Linda. Leaving behind her humble, earthly home to move to her new heavenly residence, she says, “I love you” and “see you later” to her three children John (Johnny), Katharyn (Kathy), and Jim (Jimmy) and their respective spouses, Bonnie, Robert and Mandy. In a gentle voice and with a warm hug, she shares “See you, Honey” to Allen, Misty, Amanda, and John Earl as well as Joe and Kirsten, and their respective spouses, Fallon, Troy, Orangel, Jodi, Gabby and Taylor. She filled that candy bowl of special treats one last time for her great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Breeli, Grady Matthew, Neila Beth, Adison Faith, Emma, Wyatt Wayne, Isaac and Evie. She speaks one last “I was happy to see you and be safe” to her nephews and nieces and her duly appointed son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Dolly. Softly she whispered one last “I love you” that will last in our memories until eternity when we will all once again sing country gospel hymns to the perfectly tuned strums of her guitar. Family, friends and loved ones are encouraged to attend her viewing on June 19th, 2024 from 5:00-8:00pm. A family and close friend graveside service will be held in Garland Cemetery in Stigler Oklahoma on Thursday, June 20th, at 10:00AM with grandson, John Earl Couch leading in words of encouragement and son-in-law Robert Tackett leading is songs of glory and praise. Casket Bearers will be Allen Couch, John Earl Couch, Troy Stanberry, Taylor Stephenson, Rick Olzawski, and Robert Tackett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Orangel Suarez-Perez and Grady Matthew Stanberry.
